LOCAL FOOD, SPECIALTIES Since you have the privilege to choose your own beach, fresh fish is simply a must in Lefkada. If you spend an afternoon in the island capital's, ask for a local "kafeneio" just outside the town, where you can enjoy a local drink called "soumada" (made of almond milk) served with dako bread and fresh potato crisps, cooked in pure olive oil.
